The Burd Lab Modeling Processes In The Marine Environment Menu Home Contact Research People Teaching Publications Welcome to the Burd Lab Welcome to the Burd Lab in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia . We develop and use mathematical and computer models to help us understand the complex interplay between biological, chemical, and physical process in the oceans. When combined with experimental and observational data, these models provide tools for understanding observations, developing hypotheses, and making quantitative, testable predictions. We work on processes covering a range of scales from the microscopic to the global ocean.
